Enclosure Heater Application Basics

The Enclosure Heaters are offered in two standard construction options. Finned models utilize a specially designed low watt density Finned Strip Heater. Shroud Models incorporate a perforated plated steel cover over a formed space saving Tubular Heater construction. Both constructions are ideal for enclosure warming and humidity control applications.

These heaters require no added mounting provisions.

Finned Strip models include screw and nut stud terminals. The Shroud models are provided with #10-32 screw tab terminals. Both constructions are designed for simple 2 wire power hook-up to the heater.

Care should be taken not to over torque the screw and nut terminal posts as breakage of the internal heater connections may occur. Also, connections to the heater should be made with high temperature wire.

As with any electrically heated product, the proper application of Vulcan Heaters and the temperature control is the most important factor in optimum performance, efficiency, and longevity. No two systems are alike. It is extremely important that attention has been given to the total product or system design as well as operating environment.
